Content Marketing: What’s the Impact on the Advertising Ecosytem?

Content Marketing by Rebecca Lieb

It's always a strangely climactic and at the same time anticlimactic moment when a book you write finally publishes. After months of writing, editing and corrections, you wait. And wait. One night, you return home to find a box on the doorstep. Suddenly, you're savoring that long-anticipated moment of holding the book in your hands. That how it transpired with my first book, and the moment was repeated yesterday when Content Marketing appeared at the door. It felt  a bit like an ending, but … [Read more...]

Announcing the Open Leadership Awards

by Charlene Li I'm pleased to announce the Open Leadership Awards, which will recognize the organizations and individuals who are using social technologies to open and transform their organizations.  Being open is hard, so this is a chance to highlight organizations and leaders who are successfully giving up control while still getting things done. If your organization has changed the way you make decisions, share information or engage with your community and employees, this is your chance to … [Read more...]

Meet Charlene Li Aug. 18th at Clearvale SecondFloor Speaker Series

by Charlene Li Please join me for an evening discussion at the Clearvale SecondFloor speaker series on Wednesday, August 18th at 5pm in Redwood City, CA. I'll be doing a general Q&A and also discussing the "Open Leadership" book. (The date for the event was originally set for July 14th but I had to move it because of a conflict on my part.) The event will be hosted by Dr. Pehong Chen, Founder and CEO of BroadVision, and will take place on the second floor of BroadVision's corporate … [Read more...]

Review copies of “Open Leadership” available

by Charlene Li The hardcover version of “Open Leadership” is due to be in stores the end of May but I have 400 galleys of the book available for bloggers and Twitter-ers to review as long as you meet some basic criteria (see below) The galleys are preliminary, bound manuscripts and as such, contain some typos and errors (which we hopefully all found and corrected). While not perfect, the content is basically the same as the final product so acts as a good basis for a review. I’ll be happy to … [Read more...]

Wanted: Your opinion on book titles (Part 2)

Previously, I asked for help in naming the book, and we're done to the wire in terms of finalists. I'm hoping you can take two minutes to complete a very short survey on our title possibilities. I realize that asking an audience of people who are pre-disposed to being open is probably not the most scientific way to do this! So taking a page from  Tim Ferris, I'm also running the title possibilities against specific search keywords to see which ones get the most clickthroughs. I'll post the … [Read more...]

International examples of “open” organizations and leaders needed

I'm wrapping up work on my next book "Open" and am in need of a few examples of organizations and leaders outside of North America. In particular, I'm looking for examples of organizations that have put in place more open information sharing or decisions making processes or technologies, and as a result, have seen substantial business impact. In particular, I'm interested in learning how they went through the journey of letting go of control, and in the process, transformed the relationship … [Read more...]

Announcing my next book

I got the itch again and will be working on my next book over the next few months. The book is being published by Jossey-Bass and will come out in May 2010. I've included a description, some working titles, and chapter outline with the hope that you will share 1) what issues I'm addressing resonate with you; 2) sources and case studies that you think should be in the book. My biggest need right now is to figure out the title -- the publishing world's schedule requires that I have a title … [Read more...]

International Editions of Groundswell Book

Every few weeks I get a package from the Harvard Business Press, the publishers of "Groundswell". Inside are usually two Groundswell books, translated and printed in another language. I thought I'd share some of the cover images with you, where they are available, and updates on when other editions will be published. I'll update this page as more information becomes available Why are the covers and even the titles different? The publisher in each country decides what works best for each market. … [Read more...]
