Chris Silva

Chris Silva is an Industry Analyst focusing on Mobile at San Mateo, CA-based Altimeter group. A 10+ year veteran of the research industry, Chris helps end-user organizations understand how to effectively manage mobile strategy in their organization for increased brand impact, worker efficiency, and revenue. Chris also works closely with the vendors of hardware and software innovations in the mobile space to help these companies tailor their offerings to the current and future needs of their target markets.

Prior to Altimeter, Chris led the research, events, and consulting operations of IANS Research — a boutique research firm focused on disruptive security technology — as the Senior Vice President of Research and Service Delivery. Chris previously served as a Senior Analyst covering Enterprise Mobility at Cambridge, MA-based Forrester Research where he pioneered research on the implications of ubiquitous mobility during his five-year career with the firm.

Chris has served at IDC, two start-up boutique research firms, and in the management consulting space. He is a frequent speaker at major industry events, such as Interop, and is frequently quoted in publications such as CNBC, Forbes, and The Wall Street Journal. He  has been featured on National Public Radio discussing implications of mobile technology.

Chris lives and works North of Boston where he lives with his wife and two rescue dogs. Chris is a graduate of the Isenberg School of Management at The University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
