We are excited to announce that Brian Solis is joining Altimeter Group. (read Brian’s post). As a long-time practitioner, author, and thought leader in the digital and social media space, Brian brings tremendous experience and thought leadership to the Altimeter team. In particular, his research and client work at Altimeter will focus on bridging the gap between strategy and execution, and change management, and process innovation. Brian will serve clients through advisory services, internal education programs, and speaking at industry events.
Brian’s background is in line with the research and consulting work that Altimeter Group currently provides, which looks at not only social media, but also how companies can create pragmatic strategies around other disruptive technologies, ranging from mobile devices and social commerce, to enterprise systems like supply chain management and business intelligence. Brian’s work in new areas reflects how Altimeter is actively growing too – we recently announced that we would be hiring more people to handle the research and client needs in three areas, Mobile, Business Intelligence, and Digital Advertising & Media.
Brian’s prior work is indicative of this holistic, integrated approach. Brian works closely with many Fortune 500 brands primarily on detailed strategies and change management. He writes one of the most trafficked business and marketing blogs at BrianSolis.com. He is a contributor to Fast Company, Harvard Business Review, Businessweek, AdAge, and Mashable.
Brian is also a frequent keynote speaker at conferences and events worldwide. A prolific author, Brian’s latest book, “Engage” provides practical advice on how to integrate new technologies into the every day activity of a business, and is written for executives as well as change champions. He is also the co-author of “Putting The Public Back In Public Relations”. He is currently working on his next book, which will explore how companies can evolve into adaptive businesses.
Prior to joining Altimeter, Brian was the Principal at Future Works, the creative consulting he founded in 1999. He will continue to serve as an advisor to the team there, as long as they are clear of any conflicts with his work at Altimeter.
Please join us in welcoming Brian to the Altimeter team!
